Estonian Reading Association/ EstRA was founded in 1992, the National Affiliate of the International Reading Association since 1993.

EstRA is a voluntary organization that unites individuals in Estonia interested in reading and in issues related to reading and literacy. The members of EstRA (more than 150) are representatives of different reading-related professions. EstRA  follows the IRA's goal-setting process and its guidelines for Estonian traditional development in reading and literacy.

Projects and activities:

 7th year of the project “Reading is fun. 12 schools from all over Estonia are taking part, including schools for children with hearing disabilities. Project managers: A. Ratasep, H. Kriisa. www.lom.edu.ee/.

4th year of the project “Reading Nest”. Trainings on Story Telling in 3 regions. Project manager M. Vesiko-Liinev.  

The Project “Estonian Schools Where Literacy Thrives” in cooperation with the Research and Development Fund of Tallinn University. Developing criteria for participation and evaluation of schools.
